Coked-up Whore

She’s just a coked-up whore,
Strung out and lying on the floor, abandoned, forsaken, forgotten, ignored.

She’s just a coked-up whore,
While a fat man with foul breath pants and heaves and rips at her dress.

She’s just a coked-up whore,
Sold for the highest bid, which wasn’t much…barely more than you’d pay for lunch.

She’s just a coked-up whore,
Dressed to kill but she’s dying inside; a little girl with nowhere to hide.

She’s just a coked-up whore,
Hating to live, but unable to die, she snorts another line.

She’s just a coked-up whore,
Masking the pain, ignoring the fears, but when she sleeps, she lets out the tears.

She’s just a coked-up whore,
Searching for love in a man’s embrace, but the constant abuse adds decades to her face.

She’s just a coked-up whore,
Who bears no blame, for Jesus gave his life for hers, and he whispers her name.

“You’re not just a coked-up whore,
You’re my daughter, my princess, my friend, and I accept you and love you to the end.”

Gathering her in his arms,
Embracing her frail frame, and washes her clean of all her shame,

And sings a song while she sleeps,
“How beautiful you are, my love, my life. You are my joy and my delight.”

So true. In the light of all the controversy of who goes to heaven and who goes to hell, and how they get there, my heart cries, “She will make it! The love of God and the blood of Jesus is greater than this! Even if no one ever tells her about Christ, I want to believe He will choose to save her from eternal separation from him. After all, THROUGH HIM, all men (and women) are saved. “

Amen. Praise Jesus! We often equate sin only when we see ppl who have hit “bottom”, yet if we don”t reach out to the lost, we are sinning. Excellent topic! GBU! Father God, help us as followers of you to reach out to a lost world, who are looking for love in all the wrong places.

Very interesting poem! Did you write it? I plan to read it at our Bible discussion group tomorrow night, since we’ll be looking at the first part of John 8, the story of the woman caught in adultery. That story is very interesting, especially the end of the story when Jesus tells the woman that He does not condemn her, and then tells her to go and leave her life of sin. Where’s the part about her “getting saved”? (I’ve heard the explanation that shed did “get saved” during her encounter with Jesus and John just neglected to mention it.)

Good poem! Our discussion group thought that Jesus forgave her sins, which would be why He told her to stop sinning (someone’s translation). Therefore, she must have asked Him to forgive her sins. I pointed out that even though this is possible, even probable, we are reading our beliefs/theology into the story, which appears to not mention these details.

    Beautiful!
Sometimes labelling people who have addictions that are obvious just dehumanises people even further…
